If the captions are still editable
Open the original project and remove its caption objects there. Export again without those objects. Image repair is useful when you have only the flattened video and can no longer select its captions separately.

Play across a caption change, then seek to a frame where a hand or face crosses the line. Look for outlines that remain after the word changes and for background details that shift with the repair.
Find the start of a caption
Pause just before its appearance, then advance into the first visible frame. Look for a sudden patch in the result.

Watch the caption while a hand, face or piece of clothing passes behind it.
Check the next word or line
Compare the outgoing and incoming caption styles. A leftover highlight can be easier to spot than a letter fragment.
Prepare for replacement captions
Save the cleaned clip and add your new wording in a video editor. This tool removes visible text; it does not create, translate or time replacement captions.

Questions and answers
Can I remove captions after exporting a video?
Yes, burned-in captions can be processed from the exported file. If you still have the editable project, removing the caption layer first is usually the more direct route.
Can I keep some words while removing others?
There is no selective word-preservation control. Automatic processing may also change other visible text, such as a label in the background.
